Rihanna has become one of the most well-known music artists. Her parents were born in Barbados, and she started singing in the early years of her life. As a way to get away from her parents' tensions along with the constant arguments between her parents, she started singing. In high school she formed a band of musicians and got the chance to meet the music producer Evan Rodgers. He was impressed with her talent. His request was that the teenager be relocated in New York and pursue a performing career that was full-time. Rihanna happily accepted. Her debut album was soon released and Rihanna became a hit with the public in no time. She was a favorite amongst youngsters for her uplifting dance music, which was a hit. It led to her becoming a director. Young and talented, her name is today considered a teen idol and a fashion icon. Rihanna is also actively involved in helping charities and uses her celebrity status to benefit charities.
